interact
Who is involved in zoo research?
• Zookeepers
○ Animal observation
○ Improve husbandry guidelines
○ Animal interactions between keepers
○ Collect data
• Volunteers
○ Animal observation
○ Raise awareness and increase funds from
visitors to go into funding research
○ Free so means more money can go into research
• Education department
○ Contacting students and organising research
studies
○ Putting research into practice into zoos and
improving captive welfare of animals
○ Raising awareness and knowledge of species
and increasing interest
• Students
○ Conducting research
○ Animal monitoring and observations
