Unit 4, Assignment 2

Unit 4, Assignment 2 .
This assignment will include the reasons as to why I decided to choose to take part in the
organising of my football event, referring to the good things I will gain from it and the
potential barriers I may face.

I will also include the key factors which are to be considered when planning the event.
The final piece of my essay will be about how justified the plan is, including if the aims
and objectives are acceptable.

M2
Feasibility of Event Proposal .
Positives .
One reason why I chose to run this event is due to wanting to learn new skills, improve
those I already have and overall gain as much knowledge that I can. No one is able to
learn new skills without practicing and experiencing new things. As I reach adulthood I’ll
need to learn everything that’s in the book; whether it’s something that helps me do my
job at work or something which helps me live my personal life, for example, knowing how
to rent a house and pay the bills for it/buy and insure a car, and this is one of those
things I want to add to my list of things I’m able to do. As I am eager to learn, applying
this to my event will act as a source of encouragement to stage it; not only to learn new
things but also to run the event. This is a good skill that I am able to learn, and it’s a
quality that supports me in being able to find a job. The reason is it shows off confidence
in being able to organise things, receive set tasks and do them whilst working as a team.
Being able to do things and working together with others simultaneously is something
employees look for.

My second reason would be to increase my communication skills. Running an event
involves interacting with others, including making conversations and debating with them
on plans and ideas. My communication skills aren’t the best due to not being confident
when speaking to other individuals. Communication skills are a must with everything.
You will use them at work, when talking to your family, and even with strangers. If I apply
this skill to my event, I will learn how to properly communicate with others on a
professional level. I will also find running it with my group to be much easier as that’s
what good communication skills do; they make things go smoother and much more
efficiently; they will make our event function. This will then lead to a higher chance of
things going our way.

A third reason I want to run this event is for leadership opportunities. As I have never
been a true leader before, I want to know what it’s like to lead a group of people and
what qualities I’ll need when being a leader. For example, if a manager or supervisor
doesn’t arrive at work, another will have to take their place in order to ensure they all
know exactly what they are supposed to be doing. When I apply this to my event, not
only will it enforce order into my group, it will make sure everyone has tasks to do so
there isn’t vast drop in productivity. There always has to be a leader put in place to make
sure everything goes right, also being the case for our event.

My fourth reason involves attaining valuable experience. I chose this as experience is
something all employers want with the fact of it showing you are able to actually work the
job they give you. When you work one, you get paid, so you must know how to do it
