Crime from brief my campaign is based on : White Collar Crime

Aims : My aims are to spread awareness around White Collar Crime and increase funding
into investigating cases of White Collar Crime.

Objectives : My first objective will be to create and distribute posters in order to raise
awareness for my campaign. To ensure my objective is clear and to the point, I will include
all the relevant details on my poster, such as social media accounts, contact details and a
few details about the campaign to attract more public awareness. I will firstly distribute 100
posters in the local area in order to raise awareness, only in a local radius to begin with to
track progress and time it takes to see change. I will distribute the posters in local
newspapers to start and local town areas where people between the ages of 40 - 65
populate, such as pubs, supermarkets and cafes. This is achievable as placing posters on
local town boards or approaching local councils to promote the cause is achievable. Posters
are relevant to my target audience as I have them in areas of local places where it can be
seen and increase awareness. It will take 2 weeks to distribute all 100 posters, planning to
put up 10 posters every weekday for the 2 weeks to begin with.

My second objective will be to create social media accounts to promote awareness of my
campaign. By creating social media accounts on Facebook, it will introduce my campaign to
an audience that encompasses the target audience of adults between the ages of 40 - 65 via
a media that can track how much attention the media achieves. It is measurable because I
can track the progression the account and posts make through shares, likes and comments
and following. It is achievable as Facebook is accessed by the target audience more than
any other age group, and it is a free, accessible form of promotion for awareness. It is
relevant because Facebook reaches the target audience more than any other social media
form. I plan to post on Facebook once a week to improve awareness and provide a link to
more information about the campaign.

My third objective is to produce and sell merchandise to help increase funding for the
campaign and promote awareness in public. To ensure that the merchandise is appropriate
for the target audience, therefore producing merchandise such t-shirts and coasters. I will
create merchandise that is recognisable with a specific logo that only relates to the
campaign, as well as links to social media accounts too. I will track my progression in a
measurable way by how much merchandise I sell in a set number of times. This is relevant
as it promotes awareness for the campaign by people seeing the merchandise to attract
attention, as well as increase funding from the profit of the merchandise to put forward into
the campaign. This will take 2 months to produce all the materials and spread them out to
put in local places to be found.

Justification of choice of campaign

I have chosen to do a crime to combat White Collar Crime because it is a crime that people
are mostly unaware of and lack knowledge about potentially being a victim. White Collar
Crime is very complex and involves high-status individuals which includes a lot of resources
from police to try and stop every instance of white collar crime. The consequences of not
reporting or being aware of this crime are the effects of being a victim can cause multiple
other effects, thus known as the ripple effect. Plus, if a company’s norm is being secretive
