P2, M2, D2 Unit 43 – Applied Science

P2 – explain some of the human and physical conditons that lead to the development of
diseases and infectonss
M2 – explain how and why these infectons and diseases develop in the way that they dos
D2 – Assess the importance of human and/or physical environmental conditons in
explaining the development of these diseases and infectonss
In this assignment, I will explain some of the human and physical conditons that lead to the
development of diseases and infectons and also I will explain how and why these infectons and
diseases develop in the way that they do. I will also assess the importance of human and/or physical
environmental conditons in explaining the development of these diseases and infectons.

Parasital infectons Malaria

The way in which Malaria is transmited through bites of the female mosquitos. The reason for why
the female mosquitos are the ones, which tend to transmit the disease is because they are the ones
which carry the parasite and not the male ones. There are many diferent physical conditons, which
can lead to the development of malaria, and one of them is temperature. The fact that the warm
climate involves very warm temperatures it allows the mosquitos which are carrying the malaria
parasite to breed and increase in numbers. Another physical conditon which can lead to the
development of the malaria is high level of humidity. All it takes for the mosquitos carrying malaria
to survive is to have the level of humidity at 65 % and above and they will be fne. These conditons
contribute to where the mosquitos carrying the parasitc infecton Malaria are found. These
conditons, high humidity and high temperature is typically found in the rainforests as the mosquitos
have all of the conditons they need in order to survive which also enables the parasites to
reproduce. Another physical conditon which is vital for the mosquitos and their development is that
it is important to have the rainforests flled with nutrients to be used by these mosquitos, without
them they are not going to survive because they would not only have no nutrients to keep
themselves alive but also they won’t have any nutrients to reproduce.

There are some human conditons which can lead
to the development of malaria and one of them is
– having a shaded area which has been built by
humans, this could involve a house, tent or
anything which would be able to guard them from
the rays of the sun. This would enable the
mosquitos to actually stay in the shade for period
of tme when the sun is blaiing hot, this also
increases their chance of survival and therefore
increase the chance of being transmited to the
humans. Some of the other physical conditons
such as the water fountains or areas of where travellers can get the water from might get
contaminated if one of the individual who has been infected with Malaria touched the water. In
some cases, the fact that people might have poor sanitaton can lead onto the development of
Malaria. When the individuals don’t wash their hands or in some situatons might not necessary take
regular showers – the bacteria which would be caught on from the surfaces and dust partcles would
cling onto the individual untl they take a shower and make sure that they have been sanitsed. If
