LO2: be able to minimise the risk of sport injuries.

,Chronic injury:

A chronic injury are injuries that are obtained slowly over time. They are often acquired over a long period of
playing sports, although they can also be caused by repetitiveness and overusing your muscles. These injuries are
often less painful compared to acute injuries however, they can cause discomfort and can affect an athlete's career
if not treated. Often sport individuals or athletes tend to ignore signs of chronic injuries or don't treat them
therefore, they continue to play sport despite their injury which,in the long run can lead to further swelling and
aching. Therefore, chronic injuries are mainly caused by continuous pressure or overuse of one area of the body
that develops gradually over time.they can also be caused by poor technique being used by the individual when
exercising or playing spoty which can lead to additional strain being put on your muscles and ligaments which can
cause further discomfort and pain. Chronic injury are mostly common in athlete competing in endurance sports
such as swimming, running and cycling due to them being continuous.

,Tennis elbow
Tennis elbow is , clinically known as lateral epicondylitis, is a chronic injury in which there is pain from
the outside of the elbow. This painful condition occurs when the tendons in your elbows are
overloaded or overused and repeated action of the forearm, near the elbow joint. Which can cause to
them being overloaded, leading to inflammation, degeneration and potentially tearing. Therefore, it can
cause pain when bending or straightening your arms or grasps or lifting items. If you have tennis
elbow, you will usually experience pain on the outside of the elbow, which may travel down the
forearm when lifting or bending your arm. Another sign is when gripping small objects such as a pen
and when twisting your forearm, such as turning a handle or opening a jar. You may also experience
pain and stiffness when fully extending your arm. Tennis elbow usually lasts between 6 months and 2
years, with most people making a full recovery in a year if dealt with properly and rested. Tennis elbow
is mainly common in sports such as tennis and badminton due to the players gripping their racquets
too tightly.

, Golfer elbow
Golfers elbow, medically known as medial epicondylitis, is a chronic injury caused by the overuse of your tendons and muscles in
your forearm and around the inside of the elbow joint. Golfers elbow is similar to tennis elbow however, the location of where the
pain is different. Golfers elbow pain is pain of the inside of the elbow. This injury is caused by repetitive strain to your forearm
muscles which can lead to small tears and inflammation which can result in pain of golfer's elbow. This can due to a number of
reasons why, including gripping, lifting and activities that involve the repetitiveness forward being of your wrist. This condition can
get better on its own overtime without having to have treatment as long as you insure your reduce the amount of activity you
undertake especially any involving your wrist. This is to ensure that it fully recovers rapidly so that it doesn't get worse. Golfers
elbow is less common than tennis elbow an it mainly affects adults wit them mostly being in the age of 40-60 years old. Golfers
elbow is common in golfers due to the relative swings. Therefore, an incorrect golf swing or issues with with you golf club grip can
cause this condition. This injury can also be caused in other sport mainly racket sports due to their grip the racket and their wrists.
For example, tennis.

The signs and symptoms of golfer's elbow include: pain and tenderness on the inside of your elbow which can also extend ap0ng the
inner side of your forearm. The pain will typically worsen with specific movements. Another sign is stiffness, if your elbow feels stiff
and hurts from making a fist then you could be suffering from golfers elbow. Weakness in your hands and wrist is also a sign as well
as, tingling and numbness. These sensations might radiate further into one or more fingers particularly the ring and little fingers.
