Is also the tail end of the aircraft Horizontal stabilizer - ANSWER-Is the horizontal tail surface of an aircraft. It keeps the aircraft stable around the lateral axis while in flight. Vertical Stabilizer - ANSWER-Stabilizes the aircraft around the vertical axis Ailerons - ANSWER-Are attached to the wing on the outboard trailing edge, and "control the left and right roll or banking movements" of an aircraft Elevators - ANSWER-Control the nose-up and nose-down movements of an aircraft, to control the aircrafts altitude. Rudders - ANSWER-is used to control the nose left and right motion of the aircraft. Stabilators - ANSWER-Control the pitch of the aircraft Flaps - ANSWER-Are used during take off and landing, gives the wings more curvature for increased lift at slower airspeeds. Tabs - ANSWER-Are small , hinged flight control surfaces attached to the trailing edges of the primary flight control surfaces. "Used to make small corrections to an aircrafts altitude." Longerons - ANSWER-Are the longest and strongest structural components, and the primary load carrying members of the fuselage. Stringers - ANSWER-Are much more numerous than longerons, but are also smaller and lighter weight. They run parallel to the longerons. They provide some rigidity to the fuselage but are primary used to "give shape and provide means to attach the skin" Bulkheads - ANSWER-Gives cross sectional strength to the fuselage and divide the aircraft into different compartments Rings - ANSWER-Are lighter than bulkheads and formers and are primarily " used as fill-ins between large structural components.
