MEMO TO: All Students FROM: Junta Mohamed, President of Gust DATE: July 8, 2021 SUBJECT: scholarship opportunities for sportsmen In the past few years, GUST has received a lot of recogni tion and glory in the country because of their good performance in sporting activities. Their efforts in sporting activities have also given the institution to gain more students and this has boosted the financial standpoint in the last three years due to numerous admissions. Due to the efforts of these students, I am proud to announce creation of a sport-based special scholarship for students who show excellence in specific sports that they play, and more benefits for all sportsmen at GUST In this new program that we are introducing, we are going to award the students that have the top scores in specific sports a stipend of 10,000 Kuwait Dinars per annum. The money will be wired directly into the students accounts in three payment plans. It should also be noted that all other students that will be participating in sports to regional levels will be eligible to a 3000 stipend daily while they are on competition. Apart from that, any student that participates on any other level will receive free breakfast and lunch while they are on competition. They will also receive new kits and any sport equipment that they require while on competition. A scholarship will also be eligible for the overall player of the season. However, to receive this scholarship, the player should have a minimum GPA of 2.5 as well as a good record from all departments. The scholarship will only run for a year after which it will be terminated thereafter by the specific departments and officials. Apart from the scholarship the overall best player will be the face of the school, and therefore they are required to corporate with all necessary officials. The scholarship is subject to termination if the player is found in any compromising situations and therefore it is important to main a good discipline and rapport with institution’s faculty. Therefore, I encourage all sports men and women who represent the school to work even hard so that they can enjoy these new opportunities. I also encourage those that are not in any sporting activities to make a point of getting involved so that they can have an opportunity to enjoy these benefits.
