It is evident from the article above that there has been a shift to place greater emphasis on the
prevention of workplace injuries with the implementation of new regulations aimed at preventing
occupational diseases and injuries relating to ergonomic hazards in South African workplaces.
Explain the ergonomic risk factors in the workplace that have been identified by safety regulation

Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, many organisations have adopted a hybrid working
environment in which many employees may work from home on a more regular basis and only
report to the office once a week. Consider that the employee is working from home and using a
laptop. As an ergonomist you are required to advise the employee on laptop ergonomics and the
importance of posture. Provide some useful tips on how to apply correct posture when working with
a laptop in order to prevent work-related injuries due to poor posture. (Remember it is important to
include in-text citations and a list of references).
