Introduction
This assignment focuses on the documents used in the recruitment and
selection process of business along with their uses and purposes. This
assignment will also list the similarities and differences between these
documents.
Purpose of Documents used in Recruitment and Selection
∞ Job Advert- the main purpose of a job advert is bring awareness of a
job vacancy within an organization. Job Adverts include minimum
information about the job vacancy that will push potential candidates to
apply for the open position. Job adverts give everyone an opportunity to
apply for an open position and it gives Boots more options when
selecting a candidate because they will have a variety of different
individuals who possess different qualities and traits applying for the
position. Boots advertised their job vacancies online and all other
documents are available online. The purpose of doing this is because
more persons use the internet on a daily basis, so it is more likely for
them to see the job available.
∞ Without this document the organization will not be able to get people to
fill the position because no one will be aware because there is no
indication provided for the public. This document is important because
it is the first step in recruiting persons for a job which is the “getting the
attention of potential candidates” stage. Without this step, the other
documents will not be useful. It helps the potential employee know
about the availability of a job which they can apply for.

information about a job. The job description is a more in-depth
document or statement about the position. Its purpose is to ensure that
you are hiring the most suitable candidate and that the best candidates
are applying for the position. Job Descriptions assist in the short-listing
process of the recruitment and selection. It can also be used to help the
interviewee prepare for an interview because they will be able to tell the
