Introduction
Hello, I will be defending Mrs. Foster today and why she is innocent in the death of
her husband Mr. Foster. Some background information I think is important. Time and
place of this so called ‘’crime’: January 12th around 9.30am, East Sixty-Second Street,
at their six-floor mansion. Mr. and Mrs. Foster had been married for over thirty years
and had one daughter. She lives in Paris, happily married to a Frenchman and they
have three beautiful children. Mrs. Foster turned out to be a good and loving wife to
her husband, but one thing is that all her life, Mrs. Foster still does and always had
have the fear of being late. Despite the occasion if it is either catching a train, a
theatre starting time or any other social event, she would rather be too early than 1
minute late. These nerves would enduringly make Mrs. Foster eyes twitch. Mr. Foster
consistently fooled her with it, by always needing to do one little thing more before
leaving, like finding his shoes, even though he was already running 1, 2 or maybe 10
minutes later than they had agreed. Even though Mrs. Foster found this exceedingly
difficult to deal with she still loved him with all her heart, because family is
everything to her. So why would she kill him or let him die? What actually happened
back that day in January?
Innocent
My first argument is that Mr. Foster was running late on purpose. I had to make some
calls to the elevator company and to the airport to prove this. The airport told me
that Mr. Foster called at 09.22am, January 11th to ask if flight AF1 flying to Paris could
be delayed to the next morning and in return they would get a cheque worthy of
10.000 dollars, but they had to think about it, they said. So that gives me a good
reason to think Mr. Foster was indeed trying to be late on purpose, because he
couldn’t be sure if they were actually going to accept his offer up until his wife Mrs.
Foster would call him, asking if he or get someone else to pick her up from the
airport.
So, this leads me to my second argument which is that Mr. Foster gave all four
servants time off for the next six weeks, so he could put the rest of his plan into
action. Mr. Foster is lucky, because around 6pm the airport accepted his offer. Wait,
what do you mean offer? I hear Mrs. Foster say. They told her and the passengers
that due to bad weather the flight would have to be delayed till the next morning
around 11am, 12th January. He gets what he wants, and no one is there to pick her
up, so she calls him. Like I said, he gave all the four servants time off, the driver
Walker as well, so he tells her to go call a taxi. So instead of having to drive there
talking with the driver and having no time to call the elevator company, he had the
time to call them while she was driving home in a taxi.
This brings me to my third and last argument; due to him forgetting his phone he
died. He calls the elevator company asking if they could give the elevator an error
the next day, January 12th at 09.07am remotely, so it would not be suspicious and
that he would call them whenever they needed to come fix it, but which would also
be easy to fix again. As a result, the elevator would no longer be able to go up or
down and break all the buttons, so that he could tell his wife that he really could not
