• This is when staff have weekly or monthly 1 to 1 sessions with their manager
to discuss their strengths and areas for improvement and a good chance to
discuss issues.
• This will contribute to an effective workplace because the staff will know what
they need to do and know which areas that they need to improve on so they
can be better this will result in a better workplace because everyone will
constantly work on their feedback from appraisals.

better to get better feedback from their manager through these appraisals.
• An example of a company that uses appraisals to motivate staff is TUI. They
