1) What is ERP? - Introduction ERP
Example to start ERP : “frietcultuur”

To get this product to the product that is sold we need to go through different
processes.
Example : inside the shop, we need to cut the potato & fry it.
But there is more :
- We have 3 sub – processes :
1) Physical ( = the potato=> i cut it , fry it , …)
2) Document : ( = invoice to pay)
3) Finance flow : ( paying of the supplier, customer pays for fries)

 We can optimize this by doing value stream mapping

 We sit down and we think : How can we optimize out process of making fries?

& if we do this, how can we do it faster, with more or less people?

Resources (staff, inventory, VA, liq. M., R&D, time...)  TWmax (Kmin by resources as well

possible to use)

As soon as you use resources, you get costs

This IS ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)

Processes: innovation ≠ improvement (innovation is expected to lead to improvement)

 Innovation: profound and structural change in the way of working (new technology
or new way of working)

 Improvement: use the same resources in the process but use them in a different way
(efficiency and effectiveness)

Front office process: sales because the seller is in direct contact with the customer ('what do you want?')

Back office process: check if there is still stock (no direct contact with customer)

 More back than front. Front and back are equally important, but front is more critical.
