A. The beginning of a lesson:
• How do the learners enter the classroom?
Learners enter the class in a line
• How does the teacher greet the learners?
The teacher says “Good morning Class”
• How do they greet the teacher?
The learners stand up and greet the teacher, they sit down when the teacher
says so
• How are the desks arranged?
Desks are arranged in 4 rows and two people are supposed to sit on one desk
• Where is the teacher at the beginning of the lesson?
In front of the class, at the board
• Does the teacher take a register?
Yes
• Are the learners allowed to talk when they enter or are they silent?
They are silent
• Are they allowed to bring their school bags or sport bags inside?
Yes
B. During the lesson
• How is the previous day’s homework dealt with?
Learners are asked to come on the board and solve the problems
• How does the teacher settle the class?
He tells them to keep the noise levels down and focus on the board
• How does the teacher indicate that the lesson has started?
He tells learners to take out their classwork books and textbooks, and open
the previous day’s work for marking and signing
• How are books/resources handed out?
The teacher passes them around and gives everyone
