other people see them rather than how they see themselves. According to his sarcastic

presentation of the article, Barry presents a woman who is being disturbed by the other people’s

opinions on how she looks. As this article will present, Barry’s presentation of the average

woman is realistic to some extent but also provides a traditional view of a woman.


According to this article, the woman takes a lot of time thinking and working on her

beauty and later asks a man his opinion on how she looks. However, the author identities that the

response of the man is never relevant to the woman because whether it is positive commending

her outlook or negative it will be opposed by the woman. At this point, the author provides a
