My name is........, and I've been given the task of organizing and directing a corporate event, as
well as evaluating my own performance in the process. I must actively participate in the
planning and management of the chosen event, then reflect on my role in its success. My
evaluators and other interested parties will monitor the event and report on my involvement at
all levels and my skills. Before the event begins, I must consider how you will evaluate its
success. This must entail creating stakeholder assessment forms. This should allow me to get
comments that will help me analyze the event and make improvements in the future. During
the event, I must keep a personal diary or blog detailing my active participation, successful and
safe event management, and personal talents. It should also state whether the contingency
plan was implemented and any issues that developed. After the event, I must prepare an
individual report that reviews the event and my skill progress.
P7
Before the event
They very first task in which we had to complete was to book the venue for the event. As for
the venue, we had to make a verbal agreement with Miss O’Neil for us to book the venue (The
HUB) so that nobody else plans to use this on the day we hosted our event. The benefit of this
is that it is a quick and easy process to book the venue when needed from a verbal agreement.
As for the suppliers, the school have a contracted agreement with Asda and Amazon, which is
why we had to create a shopping list for both of these companies. We then sent this off to the
school so that they can purchase our goods for the event.
Before the event started I had various tasks and activities in which I needed to accomplish in
order for the event to be successful. One of the main tasks I was in charge of before the event
was to acquire various resources so that our plan for the event runs smoothly. One of these
resources include the speaker for the event in which we used to play music and enlighten the
mood of the event. One benefit of having music at the event is that it keeps the event lively and
keeps the attendees entertained. I had to retrieve the speaker from the schools music
department on the ground floor and take it into the lift all the way up to the HUB where it was
stored safely for the event. Another resource in which I was in charge or requiring was the table
tennis tables with the bats and balls. This was used for the entertainment of the attendees who

, only came to watch the FIFA tournament and buy foods. I had to retrieve this from the sports
department on the 1st floor of the school as well as put them in the lift as they were too heavy
to carry up the stairs. This was then put in the HUB to store safely before the event so that
people do not injure themselves if its in the way.
I also helped the marketing and operations team with their duties of managing food putting up
posters. As for the operations, we created a list of the foods in which we want to purchase for
the event as well as well as the prices of each of the products after the quantity we want. This
makes it easier for the school to purchase the necessary goods in which we wish to have. This
shopping list was for both Amazon and Asda as we had to take into consideration religious
beliefs such as halal requirements. Asda did not have a wide range of Halal sweets, we had to
resort to Amazon for the pick and mix selection. This meant that we had two separate shopping
lists for us to use with different values and costs on each one. In addition, the operations, I also
helped with the packing and arranging of the pick and mix sweets which consisted of putting
the sweets in a bag in which we bought and tapping the top of the bag down so that no sweets
leave the bag, or anything enters. As for helping the marketing team, I also helped to put the
posters up around the 6form area to attract the students to attend the charity event. I put the
FIFA tournament poster on each of the walls of the sixth-form area so that it cannot be missed
and catches the eyes of the attendees. We created the posters for advertising, but we also took
notes of the people who had the intentions to play FIFA. This is so that we can make a
tournament bracket for the people who are playing each other. As well as that, we also wrote
down their names so that we can identify who we need to collect the money from as it was a £2
entry fee for the tournament.
Another tasks in which I had to do was to create a risk assessment for the whole group to use
which consisted of various risks I could think of and the solution of each risk identified. This
duty involved me to walk around the HUB where the event will be held and identify various
risks associated with the event and can occur and resolve them issues. As an example, a risk
identified was that attendees may trip over the wires from the TVs and the console which may
not only break the resources being used but may also cause injury to the individual. The
solution I used to this problem was to strap done the wires to the floor before the event started
so that the attendees cannot trip over them. In addition to this, we also made an
announcement to the attendees to not walk across the screens as not only may this distract the
participants from playing but can also reduce the injury evolved around the wires. I then put
this risk assessment on a collaborative work in which the whole group had so that they can use
it for their assignment. By doing this it ensures the security and health and safety of the
attendees as well as the resources being used.
The day before the event started, some of the members of the group stayed behind after
school to set up the event and put the resources being used in the correct places. By doing this
before the event has started it saves time necessary for other duties needed to be completed.
We moved the TV's to the allocated spots for the attendees to play as well as chairs for people
