WHO IS AT RISK ?

A group of people within the general population of Canada who, owing to either higher

sensitivity and/or more exposure, may be at a greater risk than the overall population of suffering

unfavorable health consequences from disease condition, disability, economic stability or due to

extreme weather condition. If I talk about a population old age people/ retired ones are the one of

the most affected populations who is at risk in Canada.

WHY THEY ARE AFFECTED

There are some stats according to official website of Canada government as the 2021

Census recorded almost 861,000 individuals 85 and older, more than double the 2001 total. The

85-plus population grew 12% from 2016 to 2017. 2.3% of the population is 85+. COVID-19

killed many older Canadians, yet their population grew quickly. By 2046, the 85-and-older

population might increase to 2.5 million. Canada has over 9,500 centenarians, up 16% from

2016. Canada has 0.03% centenarians (Statistics Canada, 2022). In persons 85 and older, women

still outnumber males, although the ratio is declining. More over one-quarter of 85-year-olds live

in a nursing home, long-term care facility, or seniors' residence due to activity limits or health

difficulties. Age raises this percentage. In three-fifths of the country's main urban centers, more

individuals 85 and older live in the downtown core than in the large urban center overall

(Statistics Canada, 2022). Downtown regions feature more services and facilities, such as

hospitals, long-term care, and senior-friendly housing. As more elders live to 85 and beyond,
