Adenosine (Adenocard) - ANS-6mg rapid IV bolus over 1-3 seconds from high IV site w/ 20ml flush. If no response after 1-2 minutes repeat with 12mg IV bolus Albuterol (Proventil, Ventolin) - ANS-2.5mg diluted in .5ml of a .5% solution for inhalation in nebulizer and administer over 10-15 minutes. No max dose Alteplase, Recombinant (tissue plasminogen activator or rTPA, Activase) - ANS-15-mg IV bolus over 2 minutes; then 0.75mg/kg over 30 minutes (not to exceed 50mg); then 0.50 mg/kg over 60 minutes; max dose 100mg Acute ichemic stroke: .9mg/kg infused over 60min, 10% of total dose in 1 min Amiodarone (Cordarone, Pacerone) - ANS-pulseless vfib/vtach: 300mg IV/IO push followed by 150mg recurrent life-threatening ventricular dysrhythmias: rapid infusion 150mg iv/io over 10min, repeat as needed, maximum cumulative dose 2.2g IV/24hr Amyl Nitrite - ANS-1-2 ampules crushed and inhaled for 30 seconds of each minute until sodium nitrite is prepared or administer for 30-60 seconds every 5 minutes until patient is conscious Aspirin (ASA, Bayer, Ecotrin, St. Joseph) - ANS-160-325mg PO. Chewing is preferable to swallowing Atenolol (Tenormin) - ANS-5mg slow IV (over 5 minutes) push. Wait 10 minutes. Give second dose of 5mg over 5 minutes Atropine Sulfate - ANS-Unstable Bradycardia: 0.5mg IV/IO every 3-5 minutes as needed, not to exceed total dose of 0.04mg/kg. Use shorter dosing interval (3-minutes) and higher doses in severe clinical conditions. Organophosphate poisoning: 2-4mg or higher Benzocaine Spray (Hurricane) - ANS-0.5-1 second spray, repeat as needed. Bumetanide (Bumex) - ANS-0.5-1mg IV slow push over 1-2 minutes, or IM Calcium Chloride - ANS-Calcium Channel blocker overdose and hyperkalemia: 500- 1000mg (5-10ml of a 10% solution) IV push.
