We study Geography because it helps us to:

The 4 types of maps are Political,Topographic,thematic,and historical maps.
Political Maps- Show political borders and the names of important towns and cities.
Topographical Maps-Show the elevation of land and features such as lakes,rivers,and
mountains.On flat maps, elevation is shown with lines.On 3D maps or globes,elevation
is shown as a raised surface.
Thematic Maps-Show information for a special purpose.They could show regions of
natural vegetation,population distribution,temperature and precipitation patterns,or
levels of pollution.
Historical Maps-Are a type of thematic map.They illustrate how things were in the
past.They can show changes in borders.transportation networks,or the extent and type
of agricultural activity.
The 4 different types of graphs are Bar Graphs,Pie Graphs,Line Graphs,and Multiple
Graphs.
Bar Graph-A bar graph is used to show data about a group of topics or items.There are
two axes, and each one shows what is being measured.
Pie graph-A pie graph is used to show relative sizes of numerical information about a
topic.It is like looking at slices of one pie.
