TAMIS Definitions – Complete Guide
Authorizations (Auth) - ✔️ The quantity of munitions received by a
subordinate level from a parent level to be expended in a given Fiscal Year
(FY). Authorizations are tracked for both the current and the next FY. Note:
On the TAMIS Monthly Statistics Report and on the TAMIS Hourly Statistics
Report, this column displays the number of authorization transactions in
the selected month/day/hour for the specified hierarchy level(s).

Combat Load (CL) - ✔️ Combat Loads support the initiation of combat
operations and are the basic building block of Army war reserve
requirements. CLs are the standard quantity and type of munitions an
individual weapon, crew-served weapon, or a weapons platform and its
MTOE-designated munitions carriers are designed to hold. CLs for bulk
munitions (grenades, for example) are not associated with a weapon or
weapon platform. Bulk munitions CLs reflect the quantity of munitions
required to give units a realistic level of capability and flexibility.

DA Form 581 - ✔️ The Department of the Army's "Request for Issue and
Turn-In of Ammunition" form, used to request or return munitions.

DODIC Description: - ✔️ The description of the Department of Defense
Identification Code

Dud - ✔️ There are two types of duds: • Ammunition rounds that fail to
fire, such as ammunition used for rifles and machine guns. • Explosive
munitions that have been primed, fused, armed, or otherwise prepared for
action, yet fail to detonate, such as missiles, rockets, grenades, and mines.
TAMIS tracks DODICs that have the potential of becoming duds to meet
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements

e581 - ✔️ An electronic version of the DA Form 581 for munitions
requests. Note: On the Forecast worksheet and for Reports, this column
displays the total quantity of the specified DODIC that is obligated to one or
more e581 requests. This is calculated by adding the DODIC quantities
requested on each e581
