● It is the distance travelled per unit time

AVERAGE SPEED: SPEED
● When speed is not constant; it is either
accelerating or decelerating(faster or SPEED: SCALAR
slower).This is when we take Average speed. v=s/t
● It is the total distance travelled in total time Average speed: Scalar
● v=speed,s=distance, and t=time avg.v= total s/total t
S.I unit = m/s

VELOCITY
● Velocity is change in displacement per unit time
● Velocity is same as speed except with direction
● Velocity uses displacement rather than distance
● Displacement is change in direction of an object
● Both are vector quantity : v=s/t: m/s
