Cardiovascular Fitness
● Ability of the cardiovascular system to deliver O2 to the exercising
muscles and for the muscles to take up and utilize the O2.
● Heart, Lungs, Blood Vessels.
Muscular Strength
● Maximal muscular force for a single contraction.
Muscular Endurance
● Number of repeated contractions that a muscle or muscle group can
perform against resistance without fatigue.
Flexibility
● Amount of movement around a joint.

Ideal Body Weight
● Scale weight = Body fat + Fat free weight
● Body Fat - Adipose tissue
● Purpose - Primary source of energy. Stored as triglycerides between the
skin and muscles and within the skeletal muscles
● % Body fat = Percentage of total body weight that is carried as fat
● Fat Free Weight is everything else
● Essential Body Fat
● Men: 2 - 5%
● Women: 10 - 12%
● Desirable fat ranges (for general health)
● Men: 14 - 17%
● Women: 21 - 24%
