❖ Amadeo Avogadro (1776-1856) proposed that equal volume of gases at the
same temp pressure contain the same number of particles regardless of their
chemical nature and physical properties
❖ The balloons all have the same volume. This means they all contain the
same number of molecules

Avogadro’s number
