CASPer EXAM QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Friend on the relay team is late, is not raising money for the sponsor, and does not have
enough time to dedicate to the team. He is deciding to stay or quit.
1. Should he quit the relay team?
2. He decides to stay, but needs your help? - Answers -1. From this information, I
believe that my teammate should not quit the team. I empathize with him as balancing
many factors can be stressful. However, we can all work together to help him succeed
on this team. We all have the shared goal of having a successful relay dynamic and he
is a key part of it. I think that we can use problem solving to make the team work with
his schedule.

2. I would assure him that I support his decision. I would have a private conversation to
see where I can assist him and his needs to help him benefit from the team. Also that
we would accommodate his needs by collaborating to create a well suited environment
where he is able to thrive, as well as the team.

Friend is feeling unmotivated, breaking down, and not feeling like himself. However, he
does not want to talk to anyone about it.
1. How would you help him?
2. How would you ensure that he grows from this experience? - Answers -1. I would
empathize his situation and validate his feelings. I would assure him that he is not
alone, and I will continue to support him through this rough patch. Although this is a
difficult time in his life, he is strong enough to push through. I would also offer my help
to get him to a place where he is able to thrive. He should not have to fight these
feelings alone, I am here to help him.

2. I would ensure his growth by reminding him that we are all experiencing life for the
first time and face challenges. By getting through this new challenge, that is admirable
growth in itself. If this happens again in the future, he will understand his feelings and be
able to overcome. This demonstrates growth.

You are 6 months into your dream job, but have no work to do.
1. How would you handle the situation?
2. Your coworker has a similar experience and is feeling demoralized. How would you
increase their morale? - Answers -1. I would have a private meeting with my boss. I will
explain the situation, and how I want to contribute to benefit the team in anyway
possible. I would suggest that I can complete any task as I am passionate about this job
and enjoy being apart of this team. I want to do anything to benefit the team and
workplace. If there is anything I can do to assist, I would be eager to take it on.

2. I would assure them that they are not alone, and I am having a similar experience.
Aside empathizing my coworker, I would suggest that we can work together to have a
confidential discussion with the boss. I believe it is important to make sure they do not
feel isolated and we can work together to tackle our concerns.

, Boss is always on the phone streaming games when there is a deadline and takes
credit for all of the work that is done. The director is close to the boss and fears
speaking up.
1. Would you report this to the director?
2. Boss is getting his work done after hours, would you still report? - Answers -1. I would
report this to the director, regardless of the relationship with my boss. It is important that
we are heard, and I feel the lack of attention to the employees and the job is harming
our harmonious work. I feel we would benefit more if this was worked on, so I would
discuss my feelings and position in order to improve the workplace.

2. Although the boss is getting his work done, I would still report. I feel that it is
disrupting the workplace because we are afraid to interupt him and do not want to
appear as a burden. Therefore, it is still an issue. I feel that the workplace should be a
comfortable setting where we all contribute, and in this case that is not how it feels.

Michael's bike is stolen and posted the suspected thief, Eric, on social media. The
media is dragging Eric and it is ruining his reputation. He is not 100% sure that he stole
the bike, but made an assumption.
1. Should he have brought this to social media?
2. What is a better way to handle the situation? - Answers -1. I do not think Michael
should have brought this issue to social media. It is harming Eric's reputation, and he
might not have done it. I feel bringing other peoples attention to this when they have
nothing to do with the bike is contributing nothing. It is doing more harm than good.
Instead handling this off social media and with the person directly would be a better
approach for everyone involved.

2. A more efficient way to handle this situation is talking to Eric in person. Having a
calm, collected conversation with no accusations towards him. Simply asking if he had
any idea about the bike, if he may have a bike, if he was the person in the picture, etc.
Rather than accusing his based off of suspictions on social media, having a discussion
with no assucations would be a better way to handle the situation.

What is an article with significant impact?
1. Describe the article that has importance to you.
2. Did this change your social interactions? - Answers -1. The media article that has had
a significant impact is recieving the news of COVID-19. It was blasted all over the news
that a pandemic was surfacing. All I had was questions regarding the news. What is it?
How long will I be out of school? Are people dying? The unknown was scary, and the
news that continued spreading was buildings would be shut down, masks are
mandatory, and we are going into quarantine.

2. Yes. We were now in quarantine, everything was online, and we had to wear masks.
Due to quarantine, we were not able to interact with others in any social setting. We
were seeing the same familiar faces, besides calling and texting friends. Also the
transition to online restricted us from having conversations with people face to face.
One of the best parts of schools is interacting with peers and socializing, which was
