Since chlorine is higher than iodine in the halogen activity series, chlorine will displace

Aluminum is higher than iron in the metal activity series and iron is already out of the
compound so no reaction will take place.

carbon that has a large amount of sulfur mixed in with it. Here are the balanced equations for the
combustion of coal and sulfur. Answer the following questions based on the burning of coal to
produce energy: In what way is the combustion of sulfur harmful to the environment? SO₂ is a
very acidic oxide which produces sulfurous, and eventually sulphuric acid when mixed with
