A combination of a typical family is a family structure that is considered non-traditional. The family structures consist of various non-traditional family structures. It includes various family arrangements into what is considered the nuclear family which consists of the Father, Mother, and biological children (White et al., 2018). This family structure may involve the adoption of kids, remarriages, or the inclusion of extended family to live under one roof.
Trauma informed learning environments are important to children's development as trauma can negatively affect a student's ability to self regulate their emotions and their behaviour, to pay attention, and developing positive relationships with others. By having a trauma informed learning environment, we can help students to feel safe and accepted, connected and engaged, which in turn, will help learning to occur.
