This essay shows how women are portrayed in the media according to Jewkes (2015) through a criminological feminist perspective. Furthermore there are eight standard narratives ‘used by the media to construct women who commit very serious crimes, these eight narratives, as categorized by Jewkes (2011) Three of these narratives are then explained in detail with case examples used.
