Introduction

It takes hard work and dedication to attain success in the business industry. Organizations

have to take into account numerous tasks that end up determining its success. One of the main

concerns faced by both small businesses and large corporations are the legal and ethical

responsibilities that lie behind them. A Fortune 50 company was chosen to analyze its legal and

ethical environment. The Fortune 50 Company selected was Apple Inc.

Extensive research has taken place with the goal of gaining a greater understanding of the

legal and ethical allegations involved in a large corporation like Apple. Apple Inc. has earned its

place as the world’s first trillion-dollar company (Davies, 2018). Although the organization has

attended to its social responsibility and attained the success it has, there are various factors

surrounding the brand that result in legal and ethical conflicts. For one thing, Apple Inc. is

continuously faced with multiple lawsuits over battery slowdowns (Smith, 2018). Apple has also

been involved with issues such as privacy conflicts with both their consumers and government

officials (Olsson, 2010). Various legal subjects involving Apple Inc. have been analyzed. The

following will include legal case studies that have been broken down by using critical thinking

steps such as the facts involved in the case, the parties, the procedure, issue, applicable laws,

holding, reasoning and case conclusion (Kubasek, Brennan, & Browne, 2017).
