-Organisations with more than 5 employees have to produce a health and safety policy and HSE
oversees this document.
-HSE carries out inspections to ensure that workplace has health and safety, assessed the risk,
provides training and PPE (personal protective equipment), display posters for HS.
-Failure to comply with this results in fines or imprisonment.
Manual Handling operations regulations
-Minimise injury from handling tasks.
-Avoid hazardous manual handling operations so far as reasonably practicable.
-Asses the risk of injury in any hazardous manual handling operations that cannot be avoided.
-Companies or Employers must provide appropriate training to reduce injuries.
DSE regulations 1992
- “As an employer, you must protect your workers from the health risks of working with display
screen equipment (DSE), such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones.”
- “The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations apply to workers who use DSE
daily, for an hour or more at a time. We describe these workers as ‘DSE users. The regulations
don’t apply to workers who use DSE infrequently or only use it for a short time.”

Access and premises

storage container locked.
