1 My name is (name) I'm 28 years old and I've been stopped and searched about 8 or 9 times. It
2 kind of gets countless after a while to be honest with you. It's just something that erm just
3 happens that are, “got stopped and searched today, oh is it swear down? what happened? Oh
4 okay” and then you carry on talking about something else. The first time I got stopped and
5 searched was when I was about 14 playing out in the estate in … and erm police just, police
6 were on foot they just came up to us and said erm that they were gonna stop and search us.
7 All of us just had to stand up against the wall and erm they threatened us about running away,
8 [Laughing] and erm yeah, there was no level of respect when he did it. Cos we just stood
9 there, watched each other get searched and erm emptied the pockets up, get frisked front and
10 behind yanno, top to bottom. Nothing was explained to us they just done it, cos like I said we
11 were 14 years old, we looked vulnerable, we were just playing out. So erm how I felt at the
12 time were just scared, I hope I don’t get in trouble by my mum cos I wanna come out and
13 play out tomorrow after school. [Laughing]

14 Do I have faith in the police? Now, I'm gonna say yeah I do have faith in the police because
15 not all police are erm insert aggressive word here, but erm they are actually like doing their
16 jobs and there are cool ones that know how to deal with it. But a lot of officers are not trained
17 on how to deal with human beings, but erm, obviously you have to respect that they're doing
18 their job but there's a way you do a job in it and erm yeah most of them, that are put up to do
19 the stop and searches yeah they are not doing their job correctly. You gotta come correct.

20 What there needs to be, there needs to be more projects to erm give people the youth
21 ambition. If you're not gonna play sport or do music then it’s looking kinda less hopeful for
22 you on ends in it, but there’s so much more than that.
