Unit 9: Human regulation and reproduction

Learning aim A: Understand the interrelationship and nervous control of the
cardiovascular and respiratory systems

Title: Regulation of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems

The nervous system:
The brain, spinal cord, and network of neurones that process information from
the body make up the central nervous system. The central nervous system is
composed of two primary organs: the spinal cord and the brain. Nerves
branching off the spinal cord and extending to all areas of the body make up
the peripheral nervous system. The peripheral nervous system include sensory
neurones that carry impulses to the central nervous system. The motor
neurones carry impulses from the central nervous system to the effectors.

,Components of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system:
Central Nervous System – The CNS, or Central Nervous System, is responsible
for many cognitive and body activities. The spinal cord and brain make up the
Central Nervous System. The brain is known to be the origin of control over
human body motions and the centre of human body thinking. By interpreting
the surroundings, it assists us in simplifying complex thoughts.
Components:
 Brain
 Neurons
 Spinal Cord
Peripheral Nervous System – The nervous system is made up of two parts: the
peripheral nervous system and the central nervous system. The PNS is found
outside of the brain and spinal cord. The PNS' principal job is to guarantee that
the Central Nervous System is connected to the organs and limbs that relay
information and responses between the brain and spinal cord.

, Components:
 Sensory Cells
 Motor Nerve Cells
 Somatic Nerve System

Neurones:
The neurone is a nerve cell that serves as the nervous system's foundation. A
neuron's job is to assist transmit information throughout the body and
facilitate communication. These are known to come in a variety of forms,
including electrical and chemical forms.
