Right to Information

What information do we have a right to access?

I believe that we have a right to know and access everything, but we don't have the access to
everything. Being apart of a democratic society, especially, we should have access to
information that maybe important to the decision making of who the public want to be
leaders. The government disclose a lot of information that may be important to the public,
which is wrong as everyone has a right to information. This then leads to my next question
which would be, who decides who gets access to information and who doesn't, and for those
who have the access to information, why are they important enough to have the access.

Why is this important and how can it help you do good journalism?

Journalism is often seen as a vicious job. This is only really because journalist fight for the
right of knowledge that the general public often won't do. Being a good journalist means to
find and discuss information that the public will want to know. Essentially, the general public
having access to all information will give journalists little to no job. The protection of
information gives news journalists a chance to find out information and be able to document
it for the public to have access to in a way that is legal.

A Campaign

There Is Always Hope by Ardmore, Belfast

more synonymous with happiness, people are less likely to commit suicide in these locations.
He wanted to build associations of care and hope with railways.

Who: it was primarily aimed at men between the ages of 18-55 because they are in the
highest denominator to commit suicide, but the effects of the campaign are for everyone, as
ill mental health can happen to anyone.

Effects: the campaign made people think differently about railways, 73% of respondents
believe that the campaign is helping within the mental health sector.
