The male reproductive system is a vital system that is needed in the aid of reproducing the
population. The male reproductive system includes the scrotum, testes, spermatic ducts, sex
glands, and the penis. These organs work together to produce sperm, the male gamete, and
the other components of semen.

However, unlike the female reproductive system, most of the male reproductive system is
located outside of the body. These external structures include the penis, scrotum, and
testicles.

Also, within the male reproductive system is the epididymis. This is a long, coiled tube that is
located on the on the backside of each testicle. Its role is to transports and stores sperm
cells that are produced in the testes.

The vas deferens is a long, muscular tube that travels from the epididymis into the pelvic
cavity, to just behind the bladder. The vas deferens transports mature sperm to the urethra,
the tube that carries urine or sperm to outside of the body, in preparation for ejaculation.

The testes are oval organs about the size of large olives that are located within the scrotum.
They are secured at either end by a structure called the spermatic cord. The testes role is to
ensure that they are producing testosterone; furthermore, they are the primary male sex
hormone, and for generating sperm. Within the testes are coil masses of tubes called
seminiferous tubules. These tubes are responsible for producing sperm cells.
