Introduction

For this assignment, I will have to create a design for the animation which should be
about kids who need to wear a helmet when cycling. Also with the designs created, I
will then need To discover and inform modifications, review the design for a digital
animation and effects product with others. Then, to meet a client brief, create a
digital animation and effects product, test it against the brief, and review the degree
to which the finished digital animation and effects product satisfies the clients brief.

P3 :Produce designs for a digital animation and effects product to
meet a client’s brief.

Techniques to consider when planning the production of digital animations and
effects to suit required specifications, including:

Sources of stimulus,

This task is asking me to create an animation for a client who is a charity and
encourages children to take up cycling. Their main goal is to have an animation that
encourages 7-9 year olds to wear helmets and wants a simple animation that stands
out, with lots of colours, images and should not be negative or frightening. The way I
will do this is to use adobe animate to create a 4 min animation that meets the clients
needs and I will have to consider other factors before creating the animation such as
legal and ethical issues such as confidentiality. Also other factors such as, copyright,
release forms, representations such as race, gender and religion, sexuality, decency,
libel and intellectual property rights.

Techniques for generating ideas,

The techniques I will use to create ideas are brainstorming, mood boards or
thumbnail sketching. The reason for brainstorming is it helps you to think more
freely. To solve issues and produce novel ideas, brainstorming encourages open
and continuing discussion. Brainstorming allows teams to swiftly develop a huge
number of ideas that can then be improved and combined to achieve the ultimate
solution. Which is the reason I will use brainstorming to create a design for the
animation and the factors that take part when creating a design and animation.
Furthermore, I may consider using mood boards as it can help when creating a story
just by using images alone which kids ages 7-9 would rather watch images than read
texts. Lastly thumbnail sketching is also important as designers use thumbnail

drawings to lay out their compositions and decide what will be included in the final
piece. Thumbnail drawings also allow designers to experiment with lines, forms,
colour schemes, and other elements before committing to something they like or
dislike.

Quality characteristics,

The elements of your product that give the functional performance that your
consumers want, want, and are ready to pay for are known as quality characteristics.
These are the aspects of your goods that your buyers appreciate and will find
valuable. In this scenario, I will have to make an animation with good quality as the
higher the picture and video quality, the more likely buyers will give your
products/services in our case, animation and images a high rating, which will have a
significant impact on their decision to buy. As a result, the higher the quality, the
greater the possibility of conversion. Furthermore, another factor I need to consider
is compatibility. This refers to the ability of two systems to function together without
requiring any modifications. The data formats used by compatible software
programmes are the same. If two word processing software are compatible, for
example, the user should be able to open their document files in either. Since i will
use adobe animate, i will have to transfer lots of files/images/audio recordings to the
software which i will have to make sure the choice of software and recordings are
compatible to use with no issues regarding this.

Processing and editing techniques

Editing allows you to create the greatest image possible, one that is as near to what
you had in mind when you snapped the photo as possible . Specialised
photographers can develop and promote their own distinctive style. Editing also aids
in the establishment of a company's brand. Photo editing is also a good way for you
to tell your narrative or convey what you were attempting to capture when you shot
the photograph. Sometimes the image captured by the camera does not correctly
depict the occasion. For starters, we may not get our photo/video settings just
perfect, but you may also boost a mood or a general sense in post-production that
you will never be able to fully capture on camera. Furthermore, I will have to consider
editing a lot as I have to make sure that the animation meets the clients needs as
their message to make sure that kids should wear helmets when cycling. Editing
techniques such as lighting, exposure cross cutting etc will have to be highly
considered.
Also production techniques like Frame-by-frame production techniques include
adding, removing, copying, and adjusting keyframes, modifying tweening and
interpolation, and setting key frame parameters. Cel tracing/onion skinning

techniques include frame range, onion skin outlines, editing multiple frames, and key
framing techniques include adding, removing, copying, and adjusting keyframes.

Compression formats.

Any file containing one or more files or directories that are less than their original file
size is a compressed format. These files enable quicker downloads and more data to
be stored on a removable device. The following are some of the most common
compressed file extensions , zip and winrar. There are 2 types of formats, lossy and
lossless. Lossless compression ensures that while the file size is reduced, the image
quality stays unchanged - it does not worsen. The file can also be decompressed
and restored to its original quality. With Lossy compression it is a type of data
compression that reduces the size of a file by removing data from it. In order to
reduce file size, image quality is lost.

Requirements of the brief,

The requirements of the client asks to create an animation for a client who is a non
profit that promotes cycling among youngsters. Their major objective is to create an
animation that encourages 7-9-year-olds to wear helmets. They want a simple
animation with plenty of colours and visuals that isn't unpleasant or frightening. I'll
accomplish this by using Adobe Animate to produce a four-minute animation that fits
the client's requirements. I have to make sure I use appropriate colours and
engaging effects with accompanying music and sound effects.

Research, e.g. market research, technique planning.

In order to achieve a successful animation for this project, I will have to go in depth
of the client requirements and do research on how to make an advert that will go on
the company's main website/front page. I have to find ways to make this charitable
organisation stand out and perform better than other organisations that are doing the
same as us. For example, for market research which I stated above its intended
audience and purposes. Also for technique planning, i will have to make sure the
animation does not go against the brief and use strategic planning to guide the
organisations ways to be successful and a key to that is the animation has to be
successful.

Product design : story idea

, Mohammed Hussain Unit 18 Digital animation

The story idea is very important when it comes to animation because A good story
holds the interest of the audience and leaves them wanting more. Creating a good
plot for a 3D animation, on the other hand, is not simple; in fact, it is the most difficult
task a 3D animation company confronts when developing a new product, no matter
how big or little. The story of my plot will have to involve many animated characters
and a suitable background, audio and script. My story starts off with 2 characters,
both kids. 1 with a helmet and the other one without a helmet. The one with the
helmet his name will be George, and the other character her name will be fiona. The
plot of the story is to show why not wearing a helmet can cause danger and why
wearing a helmet is the best option when cycling. My plan is for the first character,
George, he will ride with his friend Fiona in the park at day light which is the
background I intend to choose, then George asks her to race and eventually Fiona
accepts it . However, Fiona has a helmet and George doesnt which they race at full
speed and George and Fiona both are at full speed and ride over a ramp and fall.
Both fall on their heads however Fiona is okay and George hurts himself very badly.
Then Fiona had to call an ambulance for George, in which the ambulance came and
helped him, and also gave him advice on why helmets are useful in that situation
before impact.
