nature. Human nature, as incorporated by God, is good, and the free
world that he bestowed upon us reinforces us above animals and
plants on the metaphysical ladder. Augustine views humans as weak
creatures that need saving by God’s forgiveness and salvation. His
theodicy attempts to solve the inconsistent triad, implying that
human nature is inherently corrupt and is arguably largely
pessimistic due to the fact that they are saying that human nature is
constantly “dragged down” by sin.
