,U6 WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT ASSIGNMENT 1 November 7, 2022
Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim created YouTube, an American social
media and internet network for sharing graphics, on February 14, 2005 in San Bruno,
California. It is the second-most viewed website and is controlled by Google. With the
new developments in technology, we have made it possible to share pictures and
videos from all around the world.
On the website YouTube, users can view, like, share, remark on, and upload their own
videos. YouTube can be accessed on computers, tablets, laptops and mobile phones.

Navigation
When building a website, it's very important for the audience to be able to navigate it.
If the website is too hard to navigate through your target audience loses interest,
eventually they will stop using the website. But, despite that, you can avoid this by
having a reduced number of clicks to parts of the website by doing this, it can make
the audience experience better.
When navigating the search bar search results may differ for every audience. For
example, if a user watches a lot of nature videos and the user searches the word
‘cricket’. YouTube might recommend videos featuring nature with crickets rather
than videos featuring sport cricket in them.
When you open YouTube and sign in the home page will appear, what you will see is
recommended trending and popular videos, and more. There is a Guide on the
screen to help you navigate the website no matter where you are on YouTube. All you
need to do is click on the menu button of any YouTube page to open the guide on any
device. You can navigate your channels, view history, liked videos, playlists and many
more.
When creating a website, a good layout is necessary for keeping the user left wanting
to come back to the site because of the easy accessibility of important information to
find and the easy navigating experience. If the layout is bad the user will leave the
site because they can't find what they were looking for.
layout
YouTube uses F type of layout for its website layout that follows a common pattern of
scanning with people's eye movement. With the f layout, users start scanning their
eyes at the top right corner of people eye movement of the page and at the same
time get their attention. This pattern can also follow the shape of an E as well. The F
layout also lets users easily scan the video content displayed on the screen and
choose accordingly. It has only a few colors such as white, red, blue and black.
White space
This can be used effectively to promote an area or an object within the website or it
can lead to confusion when browsing the YouTube website, suggesting that the page
has not fully loaded. The white space on the YouTube website is incredibly good. It is
