about the infant's condition and prognosis. Confirm if the child is stabilized and
what follow-up care will be necessary.
2. Risk Assessment: Assess the home environment, including the mental health
and behavior of the 16-year-old mother, her relationship with her own mother,
and the safety of the two older children.
o Risks Identified:
Severe physical harm or death of the infant.
Mental instability or stress of the teenage mother.
Neglect or possible harm to the two other children in the household.
3. Legal and Child Protection Steps: Immediately notify child protection services
(CPS) and the police for an emergency intervention. The case warrants criminal
investigation due to the deliberate poisoning.
4. Emergency Removal of Children: Recommend immediate removal of all three
children from the household for safety. Temporary foster care may be needed.
5. Counseling for Mother: The 16-year-old mother requires urgent psychiatric
