What is the difference between a refugee, an asylum seeker and an immigrant?
Refugee: An individual who is forced to flee from their country in order to escape armed conflicts,
persecution or natural disasters.
Asylum-seeker: An individual who has left their own country because they feel in great danger and is aski
for political protection from another country.
Immigrant: An individual who comes to live permanently in a foreign country.
Migrant: Someone who hasn’t moved country due to a direct threat, but to travel to another country to see
employment and to improve their lives.
