“GREAT EXPECTATIONS”

The novel “Great Expectations” is considered to be one of Charles Dickens best novels and is

considered a classic today. “ Great Expectations” is the story of Pip an orphan boy who lives

with his sister and brother in law. Pip is an ambitious young individual who falls in love with a

girl named Estella and thinks the only way to acquire Estella’s love is by becoming well

educated. Pip gets money by an anonymous benefactor named Magwitch and goes to London for

education. It was afterward that he found out that his benefactor is a criminal. This could damage

Pip’s social image within society. Pip and Magwitch decide to leave London but are caught by

the police. Magwitch is jailed and dies awaiting execution. While Pip was arrested for his debts

but could not be jailed due to his health. However, his brother in law joe pays off all his debts

author? Or is there something else within this piece of work that is elegant and attractive that
