Before choosing a computer system there are factors which need to be considered including:
 Budget – When it comes to budget you need to look at what’s needed not just buying the biggest and fastest system as
this may not be affordable.
 User competence – Users with little experience will have less control and require more help. Whereas users who are ve
experienced will have more control and won’t require much help.
 Accessibility (the users ability/disability) – Some users may some kind of disability such as being deaf or visually
impaired…etc. There are special hardware, peripherals, and settings on the computer system that can help with these
accessibility factors. Users may also have different abilities, for example some users will be young and will have differen
abilities from other users that are old.
 The type software that will be used – Different software will be used for different user requirements. Users that are only
using the computer system for simple use such as just browsing the web, basic office use…etc. then they will only need
basic computer system. On the other hand, users that are going to use the computer system in a more complex way suc
as producing web pages, video and graphics editing…etc then they would require a more complex computer system.
 Integration in to existing systems and hardware – some computer systems aren’t compatible with certain software and
hardware. If You already have some software and hardware then you would need a computer system that is compatible
with them.
 Training – Some users may require training of a computer system and therefore things like the type of training and traini
costs need to be considered.
 Maintenance – The computer system will need to be maintained therefore maintenance contracts and costs need to be
thought about.
