Citizenship 2

Introduction

In this assignment I will be explaining why its important that citizens follow
their duties and act like a good citizen for both society and the public services.
As well as that, I will also be evaluating the importance of Citizens and how
they can be beneficial to the public services, and how they can also support
them. As a student studying Public services I will also be writing about how the
Public services have a role in society and how their actions can effect society,
the public services and even the country and how they should be the society’s
role models.

, Task 1

To start off with, let's start by describing a good citizen. A citizen is someone
who is a member of a particular country who has rights because of being born
there or because they have applied for those rights. A good citizen is defined
as someone who fulfils their role as a citizen. As a citizen, you are required to
do the following to benefit yourself and the community; get a good education,
work hard, stay up to date on news, share good fortune, stay healthy, create
jobs, vote when needed to, serve on jury duty, volunteer, help others, recycle,
pick up litter and take care of the environment. When a citizen carries out
these roles, they benefit the society that they live in, on a gigantic scale.

Good citizens make their society a better place by improving the social
environment they live in. This is done by a good citizen, providing their society
with a sense of community and pride for their surroundings. This is achieved
by ensuring property is well maintained and representable, but also being a
general role model for the younger and other citizens for them to follow on.
Having a suitable environment improves overall moral and makes citizens more
happy and proud where they live. As well as that, a good citizen will always
challenge injustice and support fairness. This is done when a citizen challenges
anyone who uses homophobic, racist language and discriminates against
anyone.

They will also support equality making their society feel a lot more safer and
involved by not excluding them for who they are. Along with this, they will
always report crime and injustice to the police when necessary and to always
tell the truth. An example of a good citizens work would be fitness instructor
Mancunian Motivator. Due to the global pandemic, the UK was forced into a
lockdown meaning gyms were shut, which left people feeling down as they had
no supportive physical exercise. So, Mancunian decided to get his whole
neighbourhood back on the grind by organising her daily neighbourhood fitness
sessions. People would stand outside their houses, socially distanced, and
would watch the fitness instructor whilst carrying out her training workouts and
listening to music. This fitness instructor gave her entire neighbourhood
motivation and support though the lockdown which at first bring misery to and
panic to the nation, small things like this meant an increase in moral and
improvement in mental health. The whole community felt “united and
supported” during a national lockdown which brung idleness to entire UK.
