business. This is because its cheap and effective. Business cards can be printed very cheaply. It can
help your business to build brand recognition as customers now remember your logo. This also allow
them to phone up and book tables as it has the address and phone number. I can also send people
the business cards to their house so more people know that my business exist this will hopefully get
me new customers. Business cards also help you to build good working relationship with other
business or customers.
Social media
Social media is an websites and computer programs that allow people to communicate and share
information on the internet using a computer or mobile phone. Social media is a very powerful
marketing technique as people worldwide can see it. You can advertise your business using social
media its very successful because you can target age groups and the location of people. Social media
marketing is possibly the most cost-efficient part of an advertising strategy. Signing up and creating a
profile is free for almost all social networking platforms such as Facebook or Instagram and any paid
promotions you decide to invest in are a relatively low cost compared to other marketing tactics
such as newspapers and adverts on TV. Being cost-effective is such an advantage because you can
see a greater return on investment and retain a bigger budget for other marketing and business
expenses. For my business I’m going to be creating a Facebook profile and Instagram profile. On face
book ill share updates related to the business and information about the business and on Instagram
ill share picture of dish that’s on the menu that customer can have a look at or customers could
share pictures taken in my restaurant with their friend and tag me in them as this would increase my
popularity.

Leaflet are a printed sheet of paper containing information or advertising and usually distributed
free. Leaflet distribution is when you put leaflet or menus into people post or mail this could be
done by yourself or you could hire a separate company. Leaflet delivery is probably the simplest and
cheapest form of direct marketing for companies looking for a return on their investment. This can
increase brand awareness and generate sales enquiries for your business. Leaflets can be A5 or A4
format although much larger formats even up to A2 (folded) have been very successfully used as
marketing method. This method suits my business the best because leaflets can be produced in large
quantity and it’s also very cheap. This also allows me to target only local people for example if my
takeaway only delivers 2 miles I can target houses that are within the radius of 2 miles. This is very
effective and it also saves you a lot of money as your only targeting potential customers.
My target market
A target market is a group of customers within a business's serviceable available market at which a
business aims its marketing efforts and resources. A target market is a subset of the total market for
a product or service. The target market typically consists of consumers who exhibit similar
characteristics (such as age, location, income or lifestyle) and are considered most likely to buy a
business's market offerings or are likely to be the most profitable segments for the business to
service. My business target market is teenagers to mid- aged people. This is because my business is a
takeaway young people are less conscious about their health and there are more likely to have an
unhealthy lifestyle. Therefore, they are more likely to order takeaway. Young people are also more
active therefore they have less time to cook because of school, college, work etc. so they are more
likely to purchase takeaway. Old people are more conscious about their health because health
problems occur as they age such as high blood pressure, so they eat healthier, so they won’t order
takeaway as often. I will also target customers that’s into fitness as I have a healthy menu on offer
this is because people are now more conscious about their health so a healthy menu will attract
them I'm targeting all cultures as Blackburn is full of Muslim so using halal meat is very important.
