I have been accepted onto work placement at the EDU (Economic
Development Unit) at my local council (Charnwood). The EDU is
dedicated to helping different types of upcoming businesses to start,
expand and prevail.
I will be working with the officers who are responsible for the

I have also been asked to research and collect information on two
contrasting businesses one of them being JD Sports and the second
being the British Heart Foundation (BHF). After the collection of the

JD Sports is a Public Limited Company (PLC) in the fashion tertiary
sector. A Public Limited Company is the legal designation of a limited
liability company. The business first opened in bury 1981 by two men
John and David this is where the JD initials came from now is a
national business. JD Sports have now grown to become popular till
this day. JD Sports have a large younger age group following them
and buying their products. Their purpose is to supply products to its
consumers or to other businesses. JD Sports is a for-profit business as
they keep all the profit and share it among the shareholders.
The scope of JD sports is to sell as many products as they can to
maintain their revenue and or market share if they desire. They have
long term liabilities as they have been running for more than one year
and are expected to continue for many more. Their products can be
acquired by anyone for their own needs or for others, this mostly
relates to consumers. JD Sports mission statement is,

To provide customers with a secure shopping experience.
To provide good quality and services on a range of different

As JD Sports have realistic goals this makes it easy for them to
