Introduction:
I will be discussing 2 case studies regarding the
principles of safe practice in health and social care. For
case study 1 I will be discussing the Merryvale
Residence. Which provides support for 10 men and
woman who are over the age of 75. Two of the female
residents are in a same-sex relationship and have been
experiencing discrimination from a member of staff,
they have not reported the matter as they "do not want
to cause problems", the couple feels that they are
entitled to a double room, however they are being
refused one. One of the women has noticed bruises on
her partner's neck and arms, the partner requires
support with dressing and bathing, however, she insists
that she fell over. The residence has a lack of staff
which often leave and they have less than the legal
limit of care workers which results in lack of care for
some residence, as a result, some residence are going
days without a bath or shower leading to skin
