SESSION PLAN
Organisation
Warm-up: A warm-up is vital to football players before the start of a
session to prevent muscles injuries (SportPlan, 2020). There
are three main reasons players need to warm up before
starting a session: To raise muscle temperature, to maximise
performance, to prepare mentally for the training/match
ahead (SportPlan, 2020). Knudson (2008) states that “warm-
ups benefit performance through thermal, neuromuscular and
psychological effects” (2008, p.167).
