You have been asked to conduct a small-scale project, in the form of an investigative case
study, into “How have companies responded to current issues of equality and diversity in
the workplace? e.g. gender pay gap, sexual harassment, gender divide in leadership”
which is to be presented as a business case for management on how to improve employee
retention/attract new employees through recommended initiatives.
The project will involve investigating how companies have responded to current issues of
equality and diversity in the workplace investigating good practice within other businesses
and collating employee feedback. This will be presented to your line manager as a business
case with proposals to implement equality and diversity initiatives, followed by a
performance review in which you will need to reflect upon the project in relation to your
own personal and professional development
Step 1 – Project planning
1. Devise a project management plan to map out how you intend to meet the project
objectives:
To make sure every individual with different diversities receive an equal leadership role such
as women compared to men and the business to avoid any equality gender gaps. Also, to
find out if people at SGS get treated the same or differently and how many people have the
same role on each gender. Also, is there more male roles or female roles.
How to also demonstrate ethical behaviour and providing forms for the research project.
Through primary and secondary research.
2. Begin with the scope. What activities and tasks as defined in your project must be
done in order to make the project a success?
Providing opportunity to all by offering equality and through diversity, giving everyone a
chance to try achieving their potential without any discrimination and prejudice.
Create a form; inter-rater which is for different people with the same questions.
3. Provide details of activities to be carried out initiation, planning and execution of
the project.

Race Relations Act.

-Produce a project management plan that covers, aims and deliverables, time, quality,
communication, risk and resources.
