The Kite Runner
This is a little book report I had to make after reading the kite runner. I tell a part about the book (small summary) and I tell a bit about my opinion
De kite runner
I read the kite runner as my book of this period. I am going to give you a little summary of
the book and then I will share my opinion about it.
The story goes about a boy named Amir. He lives in Kabul with his dad and Ali and Hassan.
Ali and Hassan are father and son and are Hazara’s. they work for Amir and his dad. Amir
and Hassan are really good friends, but in the book you see them growing apart and going
separate ways. They started growing apart when Amir saw Hassan is a fight with Assef (one
of the bullies in Kabul). Amir just looked and didn’t do anything. He couldn’t forgive himself
for not doing anything and started to avoid Hassan. It came to the point that Amir tough it
was the best that Hassan would leave so he putted some money and a watch underneath
Hassan bed (so it would look like they stole it). He hoped that Hassan and Ali would leave
because of this incident, and they did.
A few years later Baba (Amir’s dad) and Amir left. There was a war going on in Afghanistan
and they left Kabul. They went from Peshawar to Pakistan to Fremont and to California.
Meanwhile Amir graduated high school and went to college, because his dream was to be a
writer. Amir and Baba went to a flew market every week and they sold stuff. At that flew
market Amir met Soraya. He fell in love with her and wanted to marry her. Meanwhile Baba
got really sick. He had cancer. He got really weak and his physique got really bad. One of the
last things that he did was to ask the parents of Soraya is Amir could marry her. They got
married and Baba passed away.
Then once of a sudden Amir got a call from his dads old business partner Rahim Khan. He
was still alive and told him that Hassan and Ali where both dead, but that Hassan had a son
in an orphanage. Rahim Khan wanted Amir to safe Hassan’s kid (Sohrab).
If you want to know what happened and if Amir could save the boy from the cruel
orphanage you have to read the book.
In my opinion it was a really good book. I Wanted to keep reading because in every chapters
there happened something new and exciting. At the beginning I thought it was really hard to
get in the story, because there kept coming new characters with very difficult names. But
after a while I knew the names of the main characters and didn’t had any trouble reading. I
really suggest reading this book because its very well written with all the emotions and it is a
fascinating story.
