In RED those who were put on trial and faced retribution
1486 - Stafford and Lovell Rebellion
● Lovell fled Flanders
● Humphrey Stafford was arrested and executed
● Thomas Stafford was arrested but later pardoned
1486–7 - Simnel Rebellion
● Simnel was captured and given a job in the royal kitchens
● de la Pole died in the Battle of Stoke and his family was attainted after his death
● Lovell was seen fleeing the Battle of Stoke but was never heard of again
1489 - Yorkshire Rebellion
● Chamber and 6 other rebels were tried and hanged
● Egremont escaped to Burgundy
1497 - Cornish Rebellion
● The leaders – Joseph, Flamank and Audley – were all captured and executed
1497 - Warbeck Rebellion
● Warbeck was captured and initially treated leniently until he tried to escape - he was then executed
● Stanly had an act of attainder passed against him and was then executed
● Fitzwater was executed
● Clifford was pardoned and rewarded
1525 - Amicable Grant
● After their trial, the rebels returned to Suffolk with 90 pieces of silver as compensation, paid for by the
prison keeper on Wolsey’s instructions
1534–7 - Kildare Rebellion (Silken Thomas Rebellion)
● Kildare was sent to London and executed along with 5 of his uncles, he was also attainted
● Kildare’s nephew escaped to France
1536–7 - Pilgrimage of Grace
● Darcy and Hussey were trialled by a special court of peers, they were found guilty and executed
● Aske, the Percy brothers, and Constable were executed
● However, 56 were also pardoned - predominantly nobility and gentry
