Describe the actions taken to reduce risks to security whilst using the internet
for different types of business activities in this task I will be using eBay to
outline the risks.
eBay
- eBay Inc. is an American multinational e-commerce corporation based in San Jose, California,
that facilitates consumer-to-consumer and business-to-consumer sales through its website.
eBay was founded by Pierre Omidyar in 1995.The reason to why I outlined eBay as an example
is because back in 2014 the company came under attack following a large breach when
cyberattacks hacked in eBay's systems. Below I will be listing a number of software protection
alternatives in which I would recommend that eBay invests moneys into to prevent any future
security breaches from ever arising again. In concluding my research will be more reliable to
solve any future issue as the company will have a better understanding of how to handle
cyberattack at a more rapid rate.

 The use of Anti- Virus Software
-Now I would recommend that eBay uses Anti-virus software because it helps to protect your
computer against malware and cybercriminals. Antivirus software looks at data, webpages,
files, software, applications all travelling over the network to your devices. The software also
searches for known threats and monitors the behaviors of all programs. Which will easily detect
suspicious behavior.
-Malware antivirus is a software which is used to install viruses and spyware onto your
computer without your knowledge, malware can also steal your log in information and use your
computer to send spams to your email and crash your computer system in doing so this allows
cybercriminals to access to victims' devices information now an example of this situation I
would use is eBay's cyber-attack back in 2014 was based off a malware software in which cyber
attacker used to get hold of 145 million customers confidential information. Now there are
many resolutions that can help to prevent this cyber-attack from happening again for instance
system monitoring anti-virus is a software that protects and monitors computer systems for
suspicious behavior such as spyware, worms and trojans if the system detects anything
suspicious then the system will go into alert mode.
