Introduction:
As a young individual working as an apprentice at a small design office, where we
design drawings the traditional way using different sketching and drawing board
techniques with minimal use of CAD software. I have been informed that there are
new CAD drawings being created from the artefacts and my manager has
requested me to generate two new drawings – one of a given engineered
component and the other which is of a given electrical circuit. When doing these
drawings, these’ll enable me to produce these two drawings so that my manager
can check these so that they meet international standards.

What is AutoCAD?
AutoCAD is a type of computer-aided design software that was developed by the
company Autodesk. This software allows the user to draw and modify digital 2D
and 3D designs in an efficient manner rather than manually. These files are saved
and stored into the cloud in an easy manner so that these files can be accessed
easily at any time.
What is AutoCAD used for?
As AutoCAD has become one of the best software for design, it is used
commonly in:

Accurate designs- With the aid of AutoCAD, it helps the user to easily draw
objects in an accurate manner by using various options in order to set the
proper size and necessary alignments. When you access AutoCAD, you
have a rectangular grid which enables you to click on any interval that is
there on the grid so that you can locate the exact position. In case if this
isn't accurate for you, then you can then use your keyboard and type in the
exact coordinates of the location in which you want to start your drawing
at. The object snap tool enables the user to snap to any location on the
drawing and this then automatically locates the points like centre point of a
line. Therefore, the user does not have to measure lines manually as the
software helps the user to find these points for the user easily.
Making Changes and reducing risk of error- With AutoCAD, you do not
have to go through a long manual process in order to solely adjust your
drawing. With AutoCAD, the user can create designs fairly quickly and in
an efficient manner by using the software’s tools which are easy to use so
that the user can complete the tasks within a shorter period of time unlike
doing it manually. Also it is fairly easy to make changes and adjustments to
your drawing as for example when you design a prototype of a car engine,
you are going to have to do multiple drafting so this will require us to tweak
the drawing model repeatedly until you get the product you’re looking
for.Furthermore,as redrawing the drawing will take too much time
especially when editing manually, you can simply adjust the original
preview of the drawing and revisit the modifications at any time throughout
the design or manufacturing process with AutoCAD. As AutoCAD has
several editing tools like trim, stretch and scaling , you can then use these
and much more tools in order to edit your drawing without having to
redraw repeatedly when doing it manually. Hence by using AutoCAD, your
risk for error is reduced vastly as you do not need to redraw the whole
drawing again and also you have an undo button which is all it takes unlike
manually. This makes AutoCAD a fair and simple process to use and with
the aid of its interface which is easily accessible and easy to navigate, this
also reduces the probability of errors and fastens up the design process
even further which is a boost for the user and their company.
