Description of Products and ServicesAs Rodri’s current system is outdated, they want a new, efficient IT system to store and manage
their data. Once they’ve successfully updated their system, they want to update their website to
include online restaurant reservations, add technology to order their dinners from their tables and
introducing a computerized menu board for their customers. This new system would benefit
organisation because they can serve more customers a day. This is a benefit for them because they
can make more money at a quicker rate. Another reason it would benefit the organisation is how
quickly the orders come through to the chefs. Unlike a waiter writing the order down and walking to
the chef, once the customer has finished ordering, there’s a very little delay between them pressing
the order button and the chefs starting to prepare it. This removes the need of a person to take the
written order to the kitchen where the handwriting could be illegible, or the paper gets lost. This
new system would benefit their customers because they would have the power to order without
leaving their tables. This feature would encourage customers to visit the restaurant as they won’t
have to wait for a waiter to take their order, they could order as soon as they get a table. The next
benefit for the customers is being able to order their food online. This is a significant advancement
because now they don't have to wait in line to place their order, they can decide what they want
before they go out and have a relaxing time at the restaurant.
Technology Considerations
For the new system, Rodri’s would need to have Wi-fi in the building. This is because the customers
are going to want to use their phone while at the restaurant to check their social feed and messages.
A reason for the organisation using Wi-fi is to allow the possibility for them to change what the
digital menu board shows. They can wirelessly connect a device to the menu board and change its
settings form there. This benefits Rodri’s as they can easily connect other devices to the board if the
previous device is damaged. Rodri’s are also going to need a new computer. This computer would
have Windows 10 installed, 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage. For what the computer is going to be
used for, 16GB or RAM would be unnecessary as it will not be running many programs at the same
time. If they decide to get a digital menu board installed, Rodri’s can possibly use the computer to
change what it shows. The next technology Rodri’s could take advantage of is tablets. With tablets
the waiters could use them to take customer’s orders or even given out to the customers so they can
choose themselves. This allows Rodri’s to make quick changes to their menu as they can update the
software to include new dishes. If Rodri’s manage to upgrade their system, it will provide them with
several advantages over the old system. It would be more efficient, more cost effective and more
user friendly.

There are around 20 restaurants in Bath, so the market is very saturated but depending on where in
Bath Rodri’s is, they still may be able to supply some peoples demands. Their target market consists
of families and their friends. If they can make their target audience happy and supply their demands,
they can be in a position of becoming very popular quickly. The competitors of Rodri’s are going to
be other restaurants in Bath. Rodri’s will have to find a selling point that makes them stand out over
the others, so they can attract as many people as possible. The meals will be ordered by the
customer and once it’s ready it will be given to them to eat at the restaurant. Once Rodri’s upgrade
their system, the word will go round of the technological advantage they have over other
restaurants, attracting customers.
